Pesantrenpreneur Program already initiated by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) and inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. The program will be run in an integrated steps, starting from training, mentoring, capitalization, to marketing.
One of the early realization of Pesantrenpreneur Program is the opening of Islamic concept stores called “Ummart” in 10 pesantren which become a medium of marketing for local pesantren products and local Micro Small Medium Enterprise products around the pesantren.
Jokowi has supported all programs about people’s economic empowerment since the beginning. Moreover, he also concerns to increase the development of country’s sharia economy. The new perspectives on the current economic conditions were told to santri. The economic disruption era that marked by the technology based on sharing economy needed to be internalized to santri’s business understanding.
Pesantrenpreneur itself, was a program of strengthening people’s economy based on boarding schools. This program involved HIPMI which fully support by the government, the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo), and various others.
The purpose of Pesantrenpreneur is to mobilize the economics of young santri to the village areas which is the basis of pesantren. They will support each other with the concept of building from the grass root that runs by the government.
